You heard right... painted curtains!

I had this vision in mind for the nursery curtains. I wanted pink and white thick horizontal stripes. I could not find them anywhere in the perfect color so I planned to make them one way or another. My first thought was sewing the stripes. But seeing as how I can't really sew a straight line, I kept looking. Then while flipping through BHG one day I found them! Exactly what I was looking for. The solution -- painted curtains. Not to mention a step by step tutorial (find it here). After gathering up the supplies, I was ready to tackle them.

Measuring and taping off the lines really was the hardest part. I think the entire project took about 3 hours!

So excited to get these up! Just what the room needed!

Did I forget to mention it cost less than $40 for the pair? What a steal!

I might just have to go show this picture to the paint man. He was shocked to hear that I was painting curtains and even discouraged me from purchasing the paint! Can you believe it? More pics of the nursery to come soon!

More shower fun!

With Carolyn Jo's arrival just 44 days away (if she's on time that is and yes we have a countdown), we've been busy preparing! Our friends and family have been a tremendous help and showered us with tons of amazing gifts. We had a baby shower recently in Lawrenceburg. We don't get to get back to middle TN as much as we like so it was especially great to see everyone! Thanks to the amazing hostesses and everyone that attended.

We are definitely stocked up on diapers for a little while, if only we could find a place to store them (so not complaining)!

You've heard of diaper cakes, now there are washcloth flowers, lollipops and onesie cupcakes :)

Handmade gifts are the best! Ann is so talented and made the most precious little rocking horse dress for Carolyn Jo!

Love sweet Caroline! So many fabulous little girls at the showers... much to look forward to!

My mommas

Sister and one of the fabulous hostesses! She's so crafty, one more reason I love her!

We also had a Knoxville Safari shower. So much fun! And let's just say I can't think of another thing that this baby girl needs!

Lion cake that I forgot to take a picture of before we started chowing down on his mane!

More diapers

Literally everything was safari themed!

Does it get any cuter? Olivia Kate cheesin'

With my sisters and amazing hostesses! I have a thing or two to learn from them!

Hostess with the mostess and chef extraordinaire!

Now that we're all set with necessities, clothes, toys, diapers and more clothes, bring on baby Carolyn Jo!

Burlap Signs

I have a new favorite craft project! I recently bought something like this for a gift for a friend on etsy. She actually registered for it! Who even knew you could register on etsy.com? Love it! Anyway, I was trying to think of a gift for some dear friends of mine hosting a baby shower for us and couldn't get the burlap sign out of my head. You know where this is going!

So.... here is out final product! Love how they turned out! I found the tutorial on pinterest somewhere and modified it with different designs!

Baby Shower Fun

Seth and I feel blessed beyond words from all the love and support we've received throughout our pregnancy! As we inch closer to Carolyn Jo's arrival, we continue to be overwhelmed with gratefulness for our friends and family.

This past weekend we had a shower in Nashville at my best friend Lynnsie's beautiful home. Everything was perfect and pictures do not do the details justice! Carolyn Jo was showered with love and some pretty awesome goodies! It was great to see so many people who mean so much to Seth and I all in one place.

Cutest diaper cake ever! Still finding all sorts of fun mommy necessities from it!

My crafty BFF made the sweetest decorations!

 Super cute and delicious cake!

With my dear friends and amazing hostesses! These girls are the BEST party planners! I took full advantage of "eating for two" of this delicious spread.

So many thoughtful and handmade gifts! My favorite little detail-- everyone brought a book for Carolyn Jo! Mostly childhood favorites. Seth and I enjoyed reading what everyone wrote in them and look forward to sharing them with her for years to come!

My sisters! Carolyn Jo has some pretty awesome aunties!!!

My mommas! A.k.a. Nana & ? (My mom's grandma name is still up for debate, hopefully not too much longer).

We graduated... from baby class!

After 5 weeks of classes covering everything from birthing techniques, breathing, breastfeeding and babies, we graduated from our baby class! Seth and I learned so SO much and feel like we just might be ready to take on the challenge of parenthood.
