Pottery Barn Copycat

For some time now I've been brainstorming ways to display all our wedding memorabilia. I know we haven't been married very long so I guess it has only been a little over 2 weeks I've been thinking about it! Feels like much longer! Anyway, I discovered this great card holder frame in Pottery Barn that I fell in love with. One thing I did not love was the price - $199.00. So, once again, I decided to make my own! Check it out...

The Pottery Barn frame. Seemed simple enough. Just a frame with wires from side to side, right?

The frame I made!!! Love it! And especially since it cost me nothing!!!

I showed my parents what I wanted to do and my mom found this frame in our garage. It was from the early 1900s and had a portrait of an old guy that no one knew. I originally thought I was going to have to do a little bit more work to a frame but this one was perfect! So we popped him out and secured the frame. My dad nailed into the sides and used some cable wire to hold all my pieces.

Now the fun part, deciding what would make the cut! Of course our invitation. And, my wristband from our honeymoon resort, a picture of our first dance, rehearsal dinner place cards...

For Seth, the UT garter I made, the News Sentinel clipping from the UT victory over Ole Miss on our big day, and his Boutonniere...

and last but not least, our marriage license!!!

Ta da! Hanging up in our room. My only issue with this project is that I have yet to find clips to hold all the pieces on the wire. I am temporarily settling with paperclips until I find something better.

And, this frame will look even better once we get our headboard. My dad is making it! I found one from, you guessed it, Pottery Barn, that he is going to copy!
